Deanna was born in Windsor on March 31st, 1940, and is the 2nd of 6 children. Her first job was as a long distance operator at the Bell. That explains the welcoming telephone voice!
Happily married to Gerry, Deanna has 4 grown children, 11 grandchildren and a cocker spaniel to fill her hours now she is semi-retired. She is walking around looking much too happy these days and spending a lot more time exercising at “the club” and is looking very “buff”.
Deanna was that friendly voice on the phone, that smiling face at the front desk and the key mover and organizer of paper work in her capacity as Office Manager and Personal Secretary to Dr. Crnec for 14 years until her semi-retirement in March 2005. She still pops in for a few hours a week and we still rely on her experience and expertise in many areas.
Deanna is also very generous with her energy and time in a wide variety of volunteer organizations in our community.
Her passions include cooking and spending time with family and friends and Belly Dancing. She met her good friend Dr. Crnec in 1977 while teaching Belly Dancing. She also taught fitness and aerobic dance at the Windsor and Essex County Y, and St. Clair College. Her passion for Belly Dancing continues to this day and is an annual presenter of a Belly Dance Workshop at the Total Recall Women’s Retreat on Pelee Island. She also offers Belly Dancing Classes at the Centre because not only is it fun but also a wonderful path to fitness.
